🚨 Shibuya's Countdown Event Cancelled Again! 🎉❌

Did you hear the news? Tokyo’s 渋谷区 (しぶやく - Shibuya Ward) has decided to cancel the 年越しカウントダウンイベント (としこしかうんとだうんいべんと - year-end countdown event) near 渋谷駅 (しぶやえき - Shibuya Station) for the fifth year in a row!

Here’s why:
The event used to attract 大勢 (おおぜい - large crowds), and unfortunately, that led to some problems like 飲酒トラブル (いんしゅとらぶる - alcohol-related trouble) and the risk of 事故 (じこ - accidents).

Even though the event is cancelled, it’s likely that crowds will still gather at the famous スクランブル交差点 (すくらんぶるこうさてん - scramble crossing) and around the beloved ハチ公 (はちこう - Hachiko) statue. To keep things safe, the area will have extra 警備員 (けいびいん - security personnel), and the Hachiko statue will be 覆われる (おおわれる - covered) to discourage gathering.
